Privilège Marine Becomes the First Multihull Shipyard to Make SEA.AI Standard Across Its Entire Range

Les Sables-d'Olonne, France – February 17, 2026 – Privilège Marine, the French shipyard renowned for building some of the world’s most capable offshore cruising catamarans, has named SEA.AI as standard equipment across its entire model range. Privilège Marine is the first multihull shipyard to add AI-assisted situational awareness and collision prevention as a core safety feature of every yacht it builds.

For more than 40 years, Privilège Marine has crafted catamarans engineered for confident ocean passages, yachts valued by long-distance sailors, families, and liveaboard cruisers who prioritize safety and comfort above all.

“SEA.AI naturally strengthens Privilège Marine’s long-standing philosophy: creating yachts that combine ocean-proven robustness, absolute safety, and bespoke comfort for long-range cruising,” said Antoine Maillot, CEO of Privilège Marine. “SEA.AI adds an intelligent layer of vigilance by continuously scanning the environment, detecting risks early, and supporting the crew in every situation. It reinforces our promise: enabling owners to travel far, safely, and with peace of mind.”

SEA.AI’s advanced optical and thermal vision systems use artificial intelligence to detect, identify and alert skippers to objects around the vessel, including those that radar and AIS may miss.

By combining high-resolution cameras with maritime-trained Algorithms, SEA.AI provides:

  • Continuous vigilance and improved security onboard

  • Detection of unidentified floating objects, debris, containers, or small craft

  • Whale strike prevention

  • Nighttime and low-visibility awareness (fog, glare, rain)

  • Visual and audible alerts for high-risk detections or people in the water (MOB)

  • Lookout assistance, especially during short-handed sailing

  • Bird’s eye view from the top of the mast helping to choose a safe anchoring spot

  • Safer maneuvering and arrival in marinas especially at night

All processing happens onboard in real time, independent of connectivity, a critical capability for offshore cruising.

Privilège Marine’s existing navigation and safety systems already meet very high standards, but certain challenges remain: “One area has always been difficult to cover: the reliable visual detection of unidentified floating objects, especially at night or in congested waters,” said Charles Dauzet, product marketing manager at Privilège Marine. “SEA.AI fills this gap perfectly by adding continuous forward-looking vigilance and AI-assisted detection that goes beyond human perception and conventional equipment. This is precisely the layer we were missing to push safety even further.”

Privilège Marine initially offered SEA.AI as an optional upgrade. Owner uptake quickly demonstrated its value. “Our owners travel far, often with small crews, and many have already chosen SEA.AI as an option. Making it standard reflects our philosophy of listening to and anticipating their needs. This reinforces our positioning as a builder of ocean-ready, high-end catamarans designed for serious, long-range cruising,” said Charles Dauzet.

“Privilège Marine is the first shipyard to bring this level of safety technology to every model in its range, and that reflects a real commitment to their customers,” said Marcus Warrelmann, CEO of SEA.AI. “Sailors face visibility challenges in many conditions, from busy coastlines to night passages and crowded anchorages. There are also times when the crew is focused on other tasks, so having an extra set of eyes that never stops watching adds real confidence. By making SEA.AI a core feature, Privilège Marine gives every crew continuous visual intelligence that was once optional. It sets a benchmark for practical, everyday safety and what sailors should expect as standard equipment on a modern bluewater yacht.”

Antoine Maillot adds that this decision is part of a new chapter for Privilège Marine: “It shows our commitment to pushing safety standards further and doing so thoughtfully. This is a new era where innovation and tradition work hand in hand to offer a truly elevated cruising experience.”
