New plug-and-play electrification kit with ARIES drive brings clean power and scalable performance options to powerboat racing.

Team Malizia, led by world-renowned skipper and climate advocate Boris Herrmann, has unveiled a pioneering hybrid-electric propulsion and energy system aboard its IMOCA 60 race yacht, Malizia – Seaexplorer. Set to compete in the upcoming The Ocean Race Europe, the yacht is one of the first in the IMOCA class to integrate an electric drive system—pushing the boundaries of sustainable offshore racing by minimizing reliance on fossil fuels.

Molabo, the leader in high-performance, safe-to-touch electric propulsion systems, has equipped the Port of Barcelona's newest all-electric commuter ferry, the Ecocat Tres, with its advanced ARIES i50 electric motors.  This state-of-the-art vessel is part of Bus Nàutic, a zero-emission boat service connecting Drassanes and Llevant wharves in Barcelona. In its first three months of operation, the Bus Nàutic service had already completed more than 125,000 trips.

Molabo today announced the launch of the world’s most powerful 48 V electric drives for the automotive industry. As the EV market accelerates, a significant challenge has emerged: a shortage of qualified high-voltage (HV) technicians, leading to extended repair times and increased costs. Molabo is the first company to directly address this challenge by delivering powerful electric drives at a safe-to-touch voltage.
