SEA.AI Brings Award-Winning AI-Powered Safety Systems to FLIBS

SEA.AI, the global leader in AI-powered vision systems for maritime safety, will showcase its award-winning Watchkeeper system at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), from October 29 to November 2. Visitors can experience live demonstrations and meet the team at Bahia Mar, Electronics Tent, Booth #691.

Following its recent Innovation Route Award win at the Cannes Yachting Festival, SEA.AI continues to set the benchmark for vision-based maritime safety. The company’s new Watchkeeper solution delivers scalable, accessible situational awareness from compact single-camera systems to sophisticated three-camera thermal configurations. Pricing starts at $4,990 USD.

“We believe advanced maritime safety shouldn’t be exclusive,” said Marcus Warrelmann, CEO of SEA.AI. “Watchkeeper’s modular design and accessible price point make it possible for more boaters to benefit from this lifesaving technology.”

At the heart of Watchkeeper is a powerful onboard AI that processes real-time data from thermal and optical cameras to continuously monitor the vessel’s surroundings, spotting hazards that human lookouts, radar, or AIS might miss.

Using machine-learning object recognition trained on millions of maritime images, the system can distinguish and classify objects and calculate whether they pose a collision or other safety-relevant risk. It integrates seamlessly with leading MFDs and navigation networks, delivering instant visual and audible alerts to the helm, bridge display, or handheld devices.

Designed for both retrofit and newbuild applications, SEA.AI offers a range of advanced safety and security systems for sailboats, yachts, and powerboats of all sizes. Beyond collision avoidance, AI-assisted thermal vision can quickly detect a person in the water and trigger immediate man-overboard (MOB) alerts, or strengthen onboard security with 24-hour, 360° perimeter surveillance.

SEA.AI systems also support marine mammal detection. By recognizing the unique visual signatures of large marine life, including whales’ distinctive “blow”, SEA.AI helps enable responsible navigation in sensitive habitats, protecting both wildlife and vessels.

“We’ve seen tremendous interest in our AI-assisted machine vision systems since winning the Innovation Award at Cannes,” added Warrelmann. “Our customers value the confidence that comes with having an intelligent lookout on board that never tires and can see further than the human eye. We’re excited to bring this innovation to American boaters at the largest in-water boat show in the world.”

With more than 150 dealer and OEM partner locations worldwide, including key U.S. partners like CED Marine and West Marine, SEA.AI continues its rapid expansion in the Americas, ensuring quality sales and service support from coast to coast.
